Casterley Camp Hillfort, Wiltshire

Univallate hillfort planned by R C Hoare.

Entrances to the South + North and West. Internally there are two irregular enclosures and ditches, and a shrine/temple (See SU15SW202). Finds include a spearhead, hammerhead, button and a brooch, and much more has been found after ploughing up to 2006.

Change of plan during construction, possibly unfinished.

Used for stock control. F)Visited 1972 by the Ordnance Survey fieldworkers.
